Cosmeceutical skincare vs Cosmetic skincare – What’s the difference?

A cosmetic product can only be applied to the outer surface of the skin and so it cannot directly treat a specific skin concern (despite what is sometimes written on the packaging!). They often smell incredible and feel amazing on the skin, however, they contain few active ingredients. 

In contrast, if you care more about what is in the product and what the product can do for you in terms of results, then cosmeceuticals are the best option for you. The active ingredients in cosmeceuticals are able to pass through the epidermis and act deep within the dermis of the skin.
