We often hear from clients, at the end of their treatment ‘OMG that was so painless compared to (insert salon name here)!’
There is a reason for that! We specialise in hair removal, so we kinda know what we’re doing. Let us talk you through why our waxing is much less painful than other salons.
We use half strips
Before we begin, a strip is the piece of material used to remove the wax (and hair) from your skin. For bigger or less sensitive areas we use a full wax strip, however for smaller and more sensitive areas (such as the Brazilian) we choose to use a half strip to reduce the amount of skin being pulled, the amount of hairs that break and to minimise bruising.
We use a sensitive wax for delicate areas
As you already know, we have our very own specially formulated wax that we use in our salons. One of these has been created especially for the sensitive areas of the body. Having specialised in hair removal for over 15 years, we have been able to continue to tweak and enhance this product to ensure it is the best (and most painless!) available.
We firmly stretch the skin before we pull the wax strip
By firmly stretching the skin we ensure we get a smooth removal of the wax strip without ripping or tugging your skin, making it much less painful.
We get you involved
The Brazilian wax isn’t a spectator sport, which is why we ask you to get involved. We get you to pull the skin taut when we can’t, to ensure a smooth, painless wax.
We apply pressure on the area after the wax is removed
Once we’ve ripped the wax, we apply pressure to the area to minimize the sensitivity of your nerve endings.
Apply a cooling pad for those who feel the heat
If you’re one of those clients who feel the heat of the wax (don’t worry it’s more common than you think!) then we can apply a cooling pad to ensure you don’t feel it for as long.
We clipper your hair
If you have long or tangled hair we clipper it before waxing. This way, when we do the wax, it is much less painful for you as there is less of it!
We use cornflour as a barrier
We apply cornflour to the area before waxing to ensure your skin is protected from the heat of the wax.
We use rollers to apply strip wax
We use strip wax for larger areas of the body, such as the legs and arms. To apply this, we use a roller to ensure a thin film of wax is applied, which can be easily removed, rather than having different thicknesses of wax across the body.
We start the Brazilian wax from the bottom
The first area of the Brazilian we wax is actually the bottom. This way we shock your nerve endings, making them less susceptible to pain when we get to the tender areas.
We follow your hair growth pattern
When we wax, we follow your hairs natural hair growth pattern to ensure we don’t get stuck when ripping the wax off.
If you don’t believe us when we say our waxing is far more efficient and less painful, then we recommend you give us a whirl! It won’t be long before we’re the only salon you trust.
