Lactobotanical Peel – Feel the Difference on Your Skin

How Does an Aspect Lactobotanical Peel Work?

Lactic acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) derived from milk, which is combined with Canadian Willowherb (an anti-inflammatory) to create a unique peel with minimal downtime for recovery.

The combination of these ingredients targets the epidermis (the uppermost layer of the skin), breaking down the bonds that hold the skin cells together to have them gently removed without harsh scrubbing. This enables a faster cell turn-over, resulting in a more youthful appearance as the healthier layers of skin are brought to the surface more quickly.

Lactic acid is a great skin renewal and collagen-building agent, it has several distinct advantages over glycolic acid. This includes less irritation, and greater effectiveness in treating acne, hyperpigmentation, and dehydration. Lactic acid has a long history of use as a skin treatment – it’s said that Cleopatra took baths in sour milk (which has a lot of lactic acids) to keep her skin beautiful!

As well as leaving you with youthful, glowing, and hydrated skin – it is the perfect preparation for a big event, such as a wedding or birthday.

Why Choose an Aspect Lactobotanical Peel?

Here at Brazilian Butterfly, we recommend a course of 3 Lactobotanical peels for optimum results. Treatments can be 2-4 weeks apart, then the skin is re-assessed to determine if further treatments are required, and Lactobotanical peels are suitable for most skin types. For many clients, one peel just isn’t enough to fully compensate for years of skin damage.

This type of peel can produce noticeable results for a variety of skin conditions, including hyperpigmentation, sun damage, congestion, mild acne, dull or lifeless skin, and dehydration.

Other benefits of a Lactobotanical peel include:

  • Truly a lunchtime treatment – it takes only 30 minutes for easy and effective results for both male and female skin
  • Gently exfoliates to reveal the healthy glowing skin below.
  • Assists in the natural healing of your skin.
  • Reduces the formation of pigmentation by suppressing tyrosinase formation. Effective for brown or red epidermal hyperpigmentation.
  • Stimulates skin cell renewal and collagen production which benefits ageing skin, leaving you with more youthful looking skin over time with a reduction in lines and wrinkles.
  • Contains antibacterial properties that are great for the treatment of acne, be it mild or more moderate.
  • Even ingrown hairs can be reduced with this treatment.

How Do I Best Prepare for an Aspect Lactobotanical Peel?

It is important to note that before your first peel, the skin will need to be prepared with the Aspect Skincare Range that is available in the salon and online. Our first recommendation would be to start with the Aspect Retinol Brulee around 2 weeks prior to your first treatment. This will help to achieve the best results, by strengthening and prepping the skin in readiness for your peel. However, the suitability of this product may depend on your skin’s current condition.

If you are after more youthful, glowing, or hydrated skin but unsure about where to start, then speak to your Brazilian Butterfly therapist today about your suitability and the best prep for your peel!

To ensure you are looking after your skin correctly and reaping the benefits of the peel treatment, we recommend using Sunscreen daily and avoiding direct sunlight – as well as daily use of Aspect Cleanser, Serums & Moisturisers.

Three days post peel treatment, the Aspect Fruit Enzyme Mask will help with additional shedding.
